Welcome to Ropley Horticultural Society
We are a group of keen gardeners who meet to share our interest in gardens and gardening. We usually meet about seven times a year with speakers on topical horticultural subjects. We have our Flower of the Month competition at each meeting and in addition at the July meeting there is a Sweet Pea Competition. Other events include two Flower and Produce Shows as well as a Plant Sale. We also organise two or three member events when we typically visit other gardens for organised tours.
If you would like to join us please print out the Membership Form and bring it along to one of our meetings or alternatively send it to our Membership Secretary.
Next Meeting.
Our next meeting will be our Christmas Meeting and you are invited to join us for Mulled Wine and Mince pies on Monday 27 November in the Parish Hall at 7.45pm when Michael Huggins will be giving a talk entitled 'Nature Travels & Gardens'. The Flower of the Month competition will be held and there will also be our usual sales table alongside our Raffle.
Annual General Meeting
Our Annual General Meeting will be held in the Parish Hall at 7.45pm on 29 January In addition to the normal AGM business the undermentioned amendment to the Constutution is proposed. This will facilitate us organising events such as Garden Open days for the benefit of other local organisations and charities.
Where funds allow, at the discretion of the Committee, to make donations to Ropley Village organisations or Hampshire based charities, for the benefit of residents.
RHS Affiliation
Members will know that our Society is affiliated to the other RHS and they have announced an additional benefit from this affiliation. We have been given a discount card giving 50% off the cost of entry to any RHS garden for up to two of our members on any one day. This may be of benefit to those members who are not already members of the RHS and if you would like to make use of this facility please contact Imelda Simons.
